Oxyzer has it’s own nameservers (ns1.oxyserver.it and ns2.oxyserver.it)
Firstly you need to access to your domain mantainer’s administrative website and point your domain nameservers to ours.
After done this step, you have the complete control of your DNS on our control panel, so you can create infinite subdomain and let the system create automatically them for you (example mail.yourserver.tld, webmail.yourserver.tld, txt fields for your main domain and other).
To manage your DNS zones and records, click in the DNS tab.
How to add a DNS zone:
Click the Add DNS Zone button, then enter the domain name in the ‘Domain’ field. Now Choose the appropriate template for the zone (default is Ok), If the domain requires different name servers, change them in the ‘Advanced Options’ section. Finished the work, click the ‘Save’ button in the top right.
How to edit a DNS zone:
Mouse over the zone you want to edit, then click on the ‘edit’ icon on the right of the zone’s domain, make the desired changes and click the ‘Save’ button in the top right.
How to view your DNSSEC public keys:
Mouse over the zone whose DNSSEC keys you want to see, then click the ‘DNSSEC’ icon on the right of the zone’s domain.
How to suspend a DNS zone:
Mouse over the zone you want to suspend, then click the ‘suspend’ icon on the right of the zone’s domain. If you want unsuspend it, click the ‘unsuspend’ icon on the right of the zone’s domain.
How to delete a DNS zone:
Mouse over the zone you want to delete then click on the ‘delete’ icon on the right of the zone’s domain.
How to configure a DNS zone:
IP address: the IP address that should be used for the root domain.
DNS Templates in our Control Panel
default: Standard DNS template. Suitable for most usecases. if you have domain and mail on Oxyzer THIS should not be changed.
default-nomail: Standard DNS template. Suitable for most usecases when you don’t want to host mail on Oxyzer.
gmail: if your email provider is Google Workspace and NOT Oxyzer
office365: if your email provider is Microsoft 365 (Exchange) and NOT Oxyzer
zoho: if your email provider is Zoho and NOT Oxyzer
child-ns: if you are going to use the domain as a name server and no other uses.
DNS Expiration date:
used as a reminder, you should have your real one on your domain manteiner.
SOA
Start of Authority (SOA) record includes administrative information about your zone, as defined by the domain name system (DNS).
DNSSEC
Depending on your registrar, you will either be able to create a new record based on the DNSKEY or based on DS key. After the DNSSEC public key has been added to the registrar, DNSSEC is enabled and live. Some registrars haven’t the option and you can’t have DNSSEC active.
How to add a DNS record to a zone
click the Add Record button, then fill out the fields and clik the Save button in the top right.
How to edit a DNS record
click the record or the edit icon that appears on mouse hover then make the desired changes and click the Save button in the top right.
How to suspend a DNS record
Mouse over the record you want to suspend and click the ‘suspend’ icon on the right of the record’s domain.
How to unsuspend a DNS record
click the ‘unsuspend’ icon on the right of the record’s domain.
How to delete a DNS record
Mouse over the record you want to delete, then click the ‘delete’ icon on the right of the record’s domain.
DNS record Tassonomy:
Record: The record name. (example:record.domain.tld). Use @ for root.
We support the following record types:
A
AAAA
CAA
CNAME
DNSKEY
IPSECKEY
KEY
MX
NS
PTR
SPF
SRV
TLSA
TXT
IP or value: IP or value of the record you want to use.
Priority: Priority of the record. Only used for MX records
TTL: Time to live.
Adjust the default time-to-live. A shorter TTL means faster changes, but results in more requests to the server (then on your cpu quota). If you are going to change the IP, it might be helpful to decrease it to 300 seconds (5 min).
